Join superhero Captain Fantastic as he
tackles a foe more heinous than any villain he has previously encountered: Human
Resources (dun dun dunnnnn).
Sidekick is our brand new Superhero film. We decided to do things a wee bit differently with this one, concentrating a whole lot more on pre-production, lighting and costumes.

Behind the Scenes of Sidekick
Below is a selection of pics taken on the set of Sidekick
Animatic
Sidekick was made a little differently from our other films, with a full story board. To help get a feel for the pacing and length this was animated in to the monstrosity below. You might even notice some deleted and extended scenes:
Work in Progress
As Sidekick had quite a few people involved in the production, there was high demand to see some work in progress videos. They are presented in all of their sans-post-production glory below:
Early version of the spinning newspaper intro sequence (pre 16:9).
Work in progress clip of the Irradiator scene.
Purple Piercing clip before the digital effects were added.
Work in progress clip of The Speedster. We tightened the scene a little for the final cut.
Rough and early cut of the opening sequence for Sidekick. No Audio processing, no foley. Plenty of bad director voice.
PS: Bang = LOL.
StoryboardWe storyboarded Sidekick in its entirety to get a real feel for how we were going to shoot it. This was pretty crucial as we didn't have a heck of a lot of time on our location, and we had a pretty tight timeframe with some of our actors.
On the right we have an example page of the storyboards we used. They might not be a work of art, but they did the job. Check out the animatic for the rest.
