Night of the Stars 2008
27 September was the 2008 Mothra Night of the Stars. The BOTU crew were there in force to have a good time and win a few awards. The awards ceremony for 2008 differed significantly from previous events - a different venue, different format and a lot of pace would define the night.

There were some great elements to the event, free booze and money for the top prizes being some of the highlights. The sound system (using the term loosely) was probably the lowlight. We doubt anyone could understand a word we said for the acceptance speeches (and not because of alcohol induced slurring). But hey, we had a good time and the BOTU exclusive party before and after helped complete the night.

The night was a good chance to catch up with people who we have worked with in the past, and a few other Mothra veterans. It was a pretty social event, with plenty of friendly trash talk being thrown about (Higgins had a few pearlers).

As for the awards, Bus of the Undead did pretty darn well. With a total of sixteen nominations and six award trophies, this was our most successful awards night yet. Each of the films we entered (Cause and Effect, Sidekick and The Gentleman's Guide to Cellular Phones) came home with a prize. You can check out our full list of awards and nominations below.

One of the coolest parts of the night was when we won the coveted Best Mothra award for Cause and Effect. Not only did it have the prestigious title, but it also came with an over-sized novelty cheque for five hundred big ones!

After the official event was over we stopped for an impromptu photo shoot. You can check out a few more photos from the night below. We also got a quick interview from Cow TV, with both Scott and Daniel taking the time to talk the team up. The interview itself was played on the same night we were guests on the show. After the shenanigans had died down we headed home for a few more quiet drinks. Another great Night of the Stars, we would like to thank everyone who made the night great and took the time to help us celebrate. Watch this space for next year!
